After no success with the Epsom salt baths, we decided to move on and hit the road. Steve used the magic of google to find an urgent care facility and prior to leaving Rawlins we made an emergency pit stop. But the doc said there was nothing she could do immediately to relieve the pain either except give me a shot and oral antibiotics. I would just have to wait for the infection to work its way out and put up with it for a few more days. So another day of agony in the saddle it was.

More of Wyoming's nothingness! |
The ride today is best summarised as windy, again! We are now really looking forward to getting out of windy Wyoming and moving on to Colorado, despite the mountainous challenges we will face. Right now we believe we would rather take a high mountain pass over this stupid wind. Tail wind, cross wind and head wind, we had them all today. Thankfully after about 50 miles we saw our first tree and a sure sign we are about to leave Wyoming and the wind.

Finally the landscape started changing |

And then there were trees! |
The Transamerica Trail also put us on the Interstate for the first time for about 13 miles between Sinclair (with its big liquid petroleum plant) and Walcott. Luckily the I-80 had a wide smooth shoulder and the traffic was relatively light for an Interstate so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

A rig in our shoulder on the I-80 |
Lunch at the cute town Saratoga and a big Rocky Road ice cream helped make the day manageable. Steve did a lot of the hard work and let me draft behind him for a bit, but he rides too fast for me in this wind so the relief was always short lived.
We met up with 3 different cyclists tonight at Lazy Acres camp ground (which is surrounded by trees!) this afternoon and a few beers and stories at the Bear Trap Cafe & Pub was a great way to end the day (along with our first taste of Rocky Mountain Oysters).
